OCSEF Academy 101 – Workshop Series

The Academy 101 workshop is an introductory course for students (grades 6-12) to learn how to conduct a science or engineering fair project. This FREE virtual workshop is a series of four Saturday sessions (1 hour each) designed for students with no prior science/engineering fair experience (click here for flyer).

Each student must register by October 3rd in order to receive the Zoom link. (Please do NOT register with your school email address, since school districts will block our notifications to you. Gmail accounts are free if you need one.)

Academy 101 Workshop Schedule:

Session #1: October 5, 2024 at 4-5pm (PDT)

Session #2: October 12, 2024 at 4-5pm (PDT)

Session #3: October 19, 2024 at 4-5pm (PDT)

Session #4: October 26, 2024 at 4-5pm (PDT)

Science Fair Educators will walk students through the basic steps of a science experiment or engineering design project through live demonstrations and will answer your questions along the way. Students will also receive resources to inspire them with project ideas and support them so they can enter their project in the 70th Annual Orange County Science and Engineering Fair.

NOTE: For students who have started their projects or have prior experience, OCSEF will also host “Ask a Scientist/Engineer” sessions later this Fall. These sessions will allow students to meet virtually with scientists and engineers to get additional help and answers to questions about their projects. We will share a separate registration link for Ask a Scientist/Engineer workshops on our website (www.ocsef.org).

(Videos will be posted a week after each session)
