Jonathan Li, 18, a senior at St. Margaret’s Episcopal School in San Juan Capistrano, found a defect in a computer model researchers use to track cancer tumor growth that made the tumors appear to grow more slowly than they do. And then he fixed it. He presented his project Wednesday to judges during the 2011 Orange County Science and Engineering Fair at the Orange County Fairgrounds.
